Recalled cucumbers are potentially linked to a multistate salmonella outbreak affecting over 160 people. Investigation is being done by the US Food and Drug Administration, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and local partners. Of the 65 people interviewed, 47 reported eating cucumbers. Salmonella was found in a cucumber sample during testing. The agencies are also looking into another salmonella outbreak to determine if it is related to this one. Symptoms of a salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. The CDC advises against consuming the recalled cucumbers and recommends washing items and surfaces that may have come into contact with them.
